

Ms. Glisson was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on December 17, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Pink and Thelma Russ Ganous. Her family moved to Loris, South Carolina when Vivian was a child where she grew up on a farm working along side her father. She was wife of the late Reverend Charles Glisson and was also preceded in death by two children, Gene Glisson , Judy Glisson Hodge, a granddaughter, Renee Kelley Register and a sister, Lucille Cliff.
She is survived by two children, Joey Glisson (Julie) of Boiling Spring Lakes and Dianne Gainey of Wilmington; grandchildren, Michelle Karwoski, Jennifer Gainey, Travis Gainey Sr. (Stephanie Garay) and Adam Glisson (Jillian); great-grandchildren, Travis Gainey Jr., Brittney Davis, Hunter Karwoski, John Thompson, Corey Skipper, Colin Skipper, Jacob Garay and Anna Garay; great-grandchildren, Eli Skipper and Hunter Register; a grandson in-law, Joel Register; niece, Susie Allen, a nephew, Rudy Cliff.
Funeral Services will be held Friday February 21, 2025 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Wroten and Reverend Jesse Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
