

William Harvey Price, Jr. died September 10, 2016 at Autumn Care of Shallotte, North Carolina, after a lengthy illness. Bill was born April 4, 1933, in Mayodan, NC to Margaret and Harvey Price, who along with his sister Annette Price predecease him. Bill is survived by a son, William Harvey Price III and his wife Laura of Gainesville, Georgia, and a daughter Kathryn Brown Price Foster and husband Keith of Fort Collins, Colorado, and his former wife Mary Cecil Brown Price of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by step grandchildren Jordan and Rachel Brower of Georgia and grandchildren LaMarr Mills of California and Liana, Sonia, Leslie and Estela Price-Foster of Colorado.
Bill attended the local schools in Mayodan, NC and then graduated from UNC Chapel Hill. He served in the Armed Forces in Poitiers France for a year. Upon his discharge from the Army he joined the CPA firm of Cannon and Company in Winston-Salem where he became a partner and worked throughout his career. While in Winston-Salem Bill was an active member of Messiah Moravian Church where he served on the Boards of Elders and Trustees, but may be best remembered for serving as Head Coffee Maker. He also assisted the Southern Province of the Moravian Church in various trustee capacities. After retirement from Cannon and Company Bill relocated to Ocean Isle Beach, NC and opened Price Tax Service in Shallotte, NC. Bill was an active member of Forsyth Country Club and the YMCA was a Scoutmaster, and enjoyed fishing, boating, tennis, and volleyball.
The family wishes to thank Autumn Care of Shallotte and Bill’s friend Peggy Cook for their care for him for nearly 3 years. There will be a graveside remembrance of Bill’s life at Mayodan Moravian Church graveyard at 5:00 pm on Friday, November 4. A celebration of his life will be held at Messiah Moravian Church at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 5 followed by a reception. These celebrations will be officiated by the Right Reverend Graham Rights. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.shallottefunerals.com.
