
Juanita B. beloved daughter of the late Leonard and Blanche Vastine. Dear sister of the late Denzil and Nedra Vastine. Survived by many loving cousins and friends, including special friends Scott Robinson, Marcy Meadows, James (Julia) Carter, Alan, Jeff, and Joe Wattenhofer, Judy Schrand, and Donna Morrison. Juanita grew up in Butler, Kentucky, and in 1942, was hired as a vocalist for WLW’s Moon River program where she performed under the name Georgia Brown. In addition to Moon River, she sang on Ruth Lyons’ programs and as part of the trio Mary, Jean, and Betty. Later, “Sweet Georgia Brown” joined the Whippoorwills, a group led by former WLW country artist Roy Lanham, in Hollywood. Juanita passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at age 94.
