
Mary Elma Smith Cain, 88 of Cincinnati, died on April 25, 2016 with family by her side. She was married to the love of her life, Dwight Langdon Cain of Cincinnati, who preceded her in death in August of 1979. There was never a day gone by when she didn’t think of her beloved Dwight.
Mary was born to the late Nell Hundley Smith and Claude M. Smith on June 19, 1927. Mary was the youngest of three. Her brother Benjamin Smith and sister Rachel Smith Bentley precede her in death.
Mary graduated from Hartwell High School in 1943 and relocated back to Cincinnati after Dwight’s death. She was the beautiful silver haired lady at the Clinique counter at Parisian and Lazarus department stores for over 20 years.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Laurie Cain Henry and son-in-law Samuel H. Henry of Farmington, NM and their children Mackenzie Henry of Washington, DC and Nathan Henry of Farmington, NM.
Mary will be forever missed by her daughter Karen C Wick and her children Jessica Wick and Jeremy L. Wick of Canyon Country, CA.
Laurie’s family would like to thank the staff of Birchwood Care Center for the tender care she received in her last two years of life.
Funeral arrangements by Schmidt Dhonau Kucner Funeral Home of Reading, OH. Family graveside services will be held at a later date.
