Daniel James Hecker

Dan was born April 7, 1956 in Sheboygan to Arthur M. and Carol M. (Schmahl) Hecker. He was a graduate of Random Lake High School, Class of 1974. He furthered his education at Moraine Park Technical Institute in Fond du Lac with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts.

For most of Dan’s adult life he worked as a chef in Sheboygan County, most recently at The Idlewile in St. Cloud and Quic Qui Oc in Elkhart Lake.

He loved to travel especially to Jamaica and Central America. He was a passionate Republican and especially enjoyed following the Packers and Brewers.

In addition to his mother, Carol of Fredonia, Dan is survived by two children, Kyle Hecker of Madison, WI and Leslie Peterson of Grayslake, IL; four grandchildren, Carter Lee, Josh, Jordan and Elizabeth Peterson; a brother, Mark (Georgiana) Hecker of Fredonia, Cheryl (Mark) Livingston of Grafton, WI; and other family members and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 P.M. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels on Friday from 12:30 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated for the memorial fund established in his name.
