

Dennis was born December 4, 1926 in Newton, WI to Charles and Regina (Gaca) Post.
He attended local schools and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the Army he developed a passion for cooking and baking, which continued throughout his life.
In September of 1955 Dennis married Nancy Friedrichs who preceded him in death in 1956.
On May 21, 1960 Dennis and Alvina “Ruth” Herman were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage.
For forty years Dennis was employed at Sheboygan Cold Storage, retiring in 1989 as General Manager.
Dennis was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also belonged to the VFW Post #1230.
His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry, and yard work. Dennis was always there for his family in all capacities. He lovingly helped renovate and build numerous homes for his children and family. He loved spending great times with his family and proudly attended all his grandchildren’s sporting events. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball and beanbags.
In addition to his devoted, loving wife, Ruth, he is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Carl (Kim) of Florida, James (Toni) of Sheboygan Falls, Brian (Becki) of Howards Grove and Randal (Rene) of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Maxwell, Jamie (AJ) Wellna, Kayla (fiancé, Eric Freitag), Emily (Brian) Herzog, Adam, Erica, Derek, and Brooke; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Ashley Leider; one brother, Daniel (Carol) Post of Sheboygan; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Post of Howards Grove; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Leon; two brothers, Darwin and DuWaine; and one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Herbert Hess.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Timothy J. Mech, Senior Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private committal services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A memorial has been established in his name. The family will be donating to The Alzheimer’s Association, The Gathering Place, and Trinity’s Magnificent Company of Saints Organ Fund.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Gathering Place, the staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, the staff at Morningside Nursing Home, and the VA Medical Center in Cleveland for their kindness and support.
He will be dearly missed.
