Edna Mayer

Edna was born July 14, 1914, in Sheboygan to Jacob and Annie (Wondergem) Den Boer.

On April 14, 1937, Edna and Robert E. Mayer were united in marriage at First Christian Reformed Church. Robert, with Edna’s support, was the proprietor of Mayer’s Barbershop. Robert preceded her in death on January 7, 1993.

Edna was a lifelong, devoted member of First Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and traveling (especially to Michigan), but her overall passion in life was her family.

She is survived by five generations.

Daughters, Karen Ymker of West Olive, MI; Ann (Ralph) Kraft of Sheboygan; Janet (Patrick) Raye of Howards Grove; grandchildren, Debra (Kenneth) Nykamp, David (Kathleen) Ymker, and Douglas (Tina) Ymker all of Hudsonville, MI; Roberta Kraft of Sheboygan, Christian Kraft of Brown Deer, WI; Jacqueline (Victor) Cancialosi of Lowell, IN; Jeffrey (Michelle) Stoltzman of Cleveland, WI; great-grandchildren, Troy, Trent, LeighAnne, and Matthew Nykamp all of Hudsonville, MI; Pastor Robert (Kristie) Ymker of Joliet, IL; Jacob (Erika) Ymker of Allendale, MI; Krista (Andrew) Brocker of Jenison, MI; Chavala and Seth Ymker of Hudsonville, MI; Andrea Childs and Kaleigh Kraft of Sheboygan; Raymond (Nicole) Bessler of Neenah, WI; Tyler Stoltzman of Cleveland, WI; great-great-grandchildren, David and Adriana Ymker of Joliet, IL; Ayden Bessler of Neenah, WI; sisters, Cory Dirkse of Jenison, MI and Jeanette Zube of Sheboygan; brother, Wesley Den Boer of Sheboygan; and numerous relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jacob Den Boer, Peter Den Boer, and Arthur Den Boer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Larry Meyer, Pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for First Christian Reformed Church Library.

We will forever remain under Edna’s watchful eye.
