Irene Joyce Schneider

Irene was born December 31, 1926 in Sheboygan to Albert and Anna (Albrecht) Oswald. She grew up in Milwaukee, where she attended schools. She furthered her education at Marquette University, where she studied dental hygiene.

On December 14, 1946 Irene and Kenneth Schneider were united in marriage at Sherman Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

In 1950 the couple moved to Sheboygan where Ken was an educator with the Sheboygan Public School System and at Sears, in the hardware dept. Ken preceded her in death on March 18, 2010.

Irene was a dental hygienist at various dental offices in Sheboygan.

Mrs. Schneider was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed serving in various activities. In her earlier years, Irene enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader. She was also a former member of the Concordia Singing Society.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan (special friend, Michael Sielaff Sr.) Schneider, Mary Jo Schneider and Kay (John) Knaub all of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Christopher (Lea) Knaub and Erika (Paul) Hintz; and other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 12:00 P.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Marcus H. Powers, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place in Hickory Cemetery in Suring, Wisconsin. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
