Jerome Jerry Thiel Sr.

Jerry was born October 14, 1935 in Sheboygan to Arno and Lillian (Stange) Thiel.

On November 10, 1956 Jerry and Loretta Seichter were united in marriage at Holy Name Rectory. She preceded him in death on June 26, 1982.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Jerry especially loved to make those around him laugh.

Jerry is survived by five children, Dennis Thiel of Fond du Lac, Linda (Lee) Housey, Jerome Jr. (Sharon) Thiel of Johnsburg, IL, Jean (Dan) Sweet and Kevin (Pam) Thiel both of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren, Travis ( Nicole) Housey, Rebecca (Jeremy) Vanderloop, Joshua Housey, Timothy Housey, Steven Housey, Jonathan White, Stephanie Goetsch, Lonna (Darren) Applekamp, and Tamy DePagter; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Thiel, Arno Jr (Sue) Thiel; a sister, Marilyn Wirtz; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Thiel and two grandsons, Nathan Housey and Michael Thiel.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory. A time of visitation and support will be held from 4:00pm until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Jerry’s name.

Jerry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehab and the residents at St. Nicholas Apartments for the care and compassion shown to him.
