

She was born July 11, 1923 in Farmington, Missouri to Dr. J. Arthur and Elizabeth (Miller) Koss. When she was four the family relocated to Sheboygan where her father accepted a call to teach at Trinity Lutheran School.
Marilyn attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1941.
Prior to her marriage she was employed as a bookkeeper at Vollrath Co. and at Security Bank.
On January 13, 1945 Marilyn and Norman E. Minster were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church. They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Marilyn was Norman’s partner throughout their life together including in his architectural business.
Marilyn was an excellent, busy homemaker for her family as well as a founding member of Sheboygan Chapter of People to People. She and Norman hosted a number of exchange students over the years. She was also a founding member of the Sheboygan Jr. Woman’s Club and a faithful, active member of the ladies groups at Trinity Lutheran Church and Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
In addition to her loving husband, Norman, Marilyn is survived by her children, Roxanna (Don) Mueller of Sheboygan, Kirk Minster of Indianapolis, IN, Joel (Sue) Minster of Highland Park, IL, Seth (Brenda) Minster of Sheboygan, and Sara (Jerry) Gordon of Kohler, WI; grandchildren, Jennifer Fry, Christian Mueller, Scott Minster, Peter Minster, Heidi (Aaron) Reinen, David Minster, Alex (Stephanie) Minster, Adam (Nicole) Minster, Jeffry Gordon, and Paul (Jennifer) Gordon; great-grandchildren, Quinn Fry and Wesley Gordon; two sisters, Harriet (Howard) Riebe of Milwaukee and Alberta (Arthur) Krafft of Menomonee Falls, WI; one brother-in-law, Rollie Sonstroem of Ohio; and other relatives and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Gwendolyn Sonstroem.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1127 Eisner Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53083. Rev. Matthew D. Peters, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and at the church Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Marilyn F. Minster for Luther Memorial Church.
