

Robert L. Beninger, age 92, of Sheboygan, has gone to his heavenly home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. He was born May 10, 1919 in Sheboygan, the son of Leo and Tillie (Schwartz) Beninger. He attended Sheboygan schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1937.
On September 27, 1941 Robert and Olis Neese were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 27, 1991. Olis preceded him in death on February 22, 2000.
Robert Beninger was employed at the H.G. Weber & Co. in Kiel for thirty seven years having served as President and Director from 1968 to 1986 at which time he retired. He was the founder of the H.G. Weber Employee Service Club.
Robert was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he served as an Executive Board member, Council member, Drive Chairman and Men’s Club President. He was President and member of the American Luther Association, member of Lutheran Laymen’s League, Sheboygan Lutheran High School Tap Root Club, and Friends of the Sheboygan Senior Center. He was a member of the Sheboygan Yacht Club and a member of Traveler’s Protective Association and member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Director and member of Wisconsin Manufacturers Association, member of the Packing Machinery Institute of Washington D.C. serving as Director and as Chairman of the Converting Machinery Council and member of the International Packaging Committee. He served on the Advisory Board of Converting Machinery and Materials Council, Princeton, NJ. He served as Director of Northeast Wisconsin Industrial Association, Manitowoc. He served as Director and Chairman of Associated Industries and Manufacturers of Sheboygan. He served on the Advisory Board of Director’s of Lakeland College, Business and Economics, member of the Executive Committee TEC, Chapter XVII, Milwaukee, member of Engineers and Scientists, Milwaukee and Score counselor, Service Corps, of retired executives, Chapter 28 S.B.A. He held ten United States patents for machinery inventions and improvements.
Robert enjoyed golf and had two holes-in-one, traveling, family, wintering in their Arizona home and a great love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane (Thomas) Frick of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Evraets, Stephanie (Adam) Jaeger all of Cleveland, WI, Lori Smith of Green Bay, WI and Jeff Domann and his wife, Kirsten Lund of Madison, WI; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Emma Evraets; and his son-in-law, Robert (Denise) Domann; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Olis, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Domann; his sister, Olive Beninger and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Melvin Klancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Alan Kretschmar, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th St., Sheboygan, WI 53081.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the second floor staff at Sunny Ridge and the staff of Hospice Advantage for their kindness and care.
