Shirley Hansen

Shirley M. Hansen, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday evening, May 6, 2012 at Morningside Health Center. Shirley was born May 30, 1928 in Sheboygan to Henry and Beata (Pfister) Markgraf. She attended Washington Grade School in Sheboygan and was a graduate of North High School, class of 1946. Shirley was united in marriage to Robert H. Hansen on December 18, 1946 at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan. She was employed for many years at Coast To Coast Hardware store. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing cards with her friends. Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Wendy (Dennis) Handrow of Oconomowoc and Bonnie Yarbrough of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and a son, Robert A. Hansen of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Al Steinpreis and one niece and nephew. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceeded in death by her husband Robert H. Hansen, and a brother, Robert Markgraf.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Grace Episcopal Church. Rev. Dr. Karl C. Schaffenburg, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Internment will take place following the service at the Grace Episcopal Church’s Garden of Grace.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Shirley’s name for the Grace Church Building Maintenance Endowment.
