

Tina M. Ertel, 52, of Sheboygan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Tina was born April 1, 1961 in Anderson, Indiana to Elias and Virginia (Lennen) Carey. She attended Farnsworth Middle School and was a graduate of Sheboygan South High School, Class of 1979. Tina was employed at various restaurants in the Sheboygan Area before beginning her 23 year employment with Sheboygan Area Credit Union. On May 8, 1998 David Ertel and Tina Carey were united in marriage at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. She enjoyed traveling, camping, listening to music, gardening, watching movies, and cooking. Tina especially loved spending time with her family and her cat, Rocky Doodle. In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her two sons, Peter Carey and Sean Ertel; three sisters, Sherry (Roger Sorens) Castro, Peggy (Todd) Messner, and Tracy (Jason) Leonhardt; a brother-in-law, Timothy Ertel; three nephews, Scott Carey, Noah Claerbout, and Cody Rhoads; five nieces, Alisha Callovi, Peyton Bergquist, Cassidy Carey, Melissa (Todd) Bauer, and Shelley (Steve) Billmeier; an aunt and uncle, Roger (Caroline) Karstaedt of Tennessee; two special friends, Rose Ann Spitz and Claire Smieja; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her infant sister, Debbie. Funeral Services will be held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Gregory S. Whelton will be the officiant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Kohler, WI. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels on Monday, September 16th, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established in her name. Tina will always be remembered for her laugh, smile, generosity, and love of life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
