
Bill was born November 19, 1947 in Glenbeulah to William and Evelyn (Fontany) Henkel.
Bill and Sandra Bittner were united in marriage at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
For over forty years Bill was employed as meat cutter at a number of stores including, Fessler’s, Luedtke’s Market, Brockman’s Meat Market, and Woodlake Market until illness forced his retirement.
Bill was a great fly fisherman and hunter, and an excellent cook who enjoyed winemaking and remodeling his home. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, Sandra. She preceded him in death of May 6, 2011.
He is survived by his son, Brian of Sheboygan; his brother, James (Sandra) Henkel of Northern Wisconsin; his beloved dogs, Cassie and Sadie; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Ballhorn Chapels. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Salvation Army in Sheboygan.
“Wild Bill” will always be remembered for his feisty spirit. Underneath it all, he was a loving and caring provider for his family.
