Jean Comer Shenk

She was born May 7, 1926 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Millard and Mamie Andrews Comer.

Jean lived her entire life in the Page County area. She Attended Shenandoah High School and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Shenandoah Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Shiffett of Elkton, Larry Comer, Barry and Eddie Shenk all of Shenandoah, and Randy Shenk of Stanley; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; sister, Joann Riggle of Tampa, FL; brother, Richard Comer of Shenandoah, and a special sister-in-law, Betty Lawson of Shenandoah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Shenk, Sr.; a son, Jimmy Comer; a grandson, Timmy Comer; and a great-grandson, Matthew Clark.

She will be moved to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Friday after noon and the family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, at the church with Bob Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Community Cemetery.
