Douglas Perkins age 71 of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith Perkins; his loving wife, Ernestine Perkins; daughter, Cindy Sharer; sister, Clara Mills. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Jane Clinard (William), Karen Svarplatis (Matt); son, Joseph Decker (Jessica); companion, Carolyn Rucker; sister, Jean Madison; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with cremation to follow.
