Ernest Miller

Ernest Franklin Miller age 93 of Shepherdsville was born in Lodiburg, KY. on August 5, 1925 and returned to his Heavenly Father on February 7, 2019. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, where he served on the U.S.S. Monterey alongside future president Gerald Ford. He held membership at Belmont Baptist Church. Ernest was a retiree of General Electric and a member of Bullitt Lodge 155 F & AM. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Stella Cook Miller; his wife, Dorothy Phipps Miller; son, Larry Wayne Miller; sisters, Verna Huff, Wiberta Tilley and Edna Doering. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his sons, Jimmy (Karen), Timothy (Robin) and Aaron Miller; daughters, Verna Drury (Terry), Teresa Denkhoff (Roger); 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter along with a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted 10 am on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial in Raymond Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster, KY. Friends may pay their respects from 2 pm until 8 pm on Monday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
