Jackie Evans Karr

Jackie Evans Karr, age 88, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 13, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, May 12, 1936, to the late Henry and Beatrice Smith Karr.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Sue Karr, along with siblings, Robert Karr, Harry Karr and Edna Bishop.

Jackie was a Baptist by faith and an Army Veteran. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 89, Kentucky Square Dancers Association and Hardin County Farmers Market. He was a master gardener and especially enjoyed time with his family and all his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Martha Terrell Karr; his daughters, Diane Large (Dennis), Jackie Gardner (Todd), Cheryl Karr, and Pam Goodin (Lewis); his grandchildren, Jacob Kennedy (Stephanie), Ryan Large (Amy), Evan Goodin, Shelby Richardson (Kayla), Kaelin Large, Samuel Kennedy, Claire Mc Avoy (Lucas) and Mason Goodin (Katie); his great grandchildren, Amelia Richardson and Cayde Kennedy; his brothers, Homer Karr and Frank Karr; along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 am Friday, June 21, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitations will be Thursday, 3pm – 8 pm and Friday 9 am until the time of service at 10 am.
