Mike Herron

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ruth Herron.  

Mike was a 1963 graduate of Henderson County High School and a Navy Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired as an IT Consultant and spent many years officiating sports. He enjoyed fishing, cooking for his family, golfing and was a Kentucky Wildcat fan. He will be sadly missed by so many who loved him. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Mike Herron Jr., Laura Thompson and Kim Ivings (David); his grandchildren, Rachel (Bobby), Aaron and Michael; his great granddaughter, Eleanor Grace; his siblings, Darrell Herron (Alice), Frank Herron (Deena), Kitty Ellis Herron and Dale Herron; along with a host of other family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2:30 pm until 7 pm at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
