Peggy Lee Thompson

Peggy Lee Thompson, age 66, of West Point, returned to her heavenly father on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born in Shepherdsville on Tuesday, May 20, 1958, to the late, James Burden and Linda Devine. She was also preceded in death by her baby brother, Paul Burden, and her sister-in-law, Donna Burden.   

Peggy was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church where she loved singing her favorite hymns. She also found great joy anytime she held a fishing pole in her hands. She enjoyed sitting down to a bowl of homemade popcorn and cheering on her Kentucky Wildcats. But what she will be remembered for most is the intentional moments she created, making memories with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 22 years, Mark Thompson; her children, Christopher Lee Wedding (Casey), James Lee Wedding and Tiffany Carol Oliver (Mark); her siblings, Jo Coffman (John), Pam Nelson (David), Rosie Richardson (Ricky), James Burden (Ismari), Debbie Collard (David), Jason Burden (Tammy) and JT Burden (Malisa); her grandchildren, Alex (Autumn), Sarah, J.P., Felicity (A.J.), Brooklynn, Christopher, Destiny (Justin), Olivia, Alexis, Isaiah and River; her great grandchildren, Xander, Dominic, Forrest, Savayah, and 2 great granddaughters on the way; along with a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Hilltop Baptist Church 6000 Highway 44 West Shepherdsville. Visitations will be on Monday from 4 pm to 8 pm at the church and Tuesday at 9 am until the time of service at 11 am. Cremation will follow the service. Friends and Family are encouraged to wear UK Blue in memory of her love for the team.
