

Valerie Marie Ellis, age 51, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Valerie was born on Wednesday, May 2, 1973, in Louisville to James and Martha Stearman.
Valerie was a member of Shepherdsville Gospel Chapel Church and loved her church family. She was exceptional when it came to creativity, especially when it came to music. She had the ability to pick up an instrument and quickly learn how to play. Valerie loved to sing, write songs and read her Bible. She had an amazing sense of humor and was very quick witted. She never gave up even when times were tough, a true warrior to the end. A loving mom, daughter, sister, and friend that will be greatly missed.
Valerie was greeted in Heaven by her daughter, Rebecca Ellis.
She leaves behind her girls, Amber Glasglow, Leah Black (Tim Vivian), and Grace Buchanan (Nick); her grandchildren, Kylie, Aliana, Kyson and two highly anticipated grandbabies expected in 2025; her parents, James and Martha Stearman; siblings, James Stearman (Joan), Vanessa Ratcliff (Lee), Laura Noe (Harold); loving and cherished dog, Gracie; her church family and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Shepherdsville Gospel Chapel Church, 253 Hester Street, in Shepherdsville with burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery with Brother Dale Noe officiating. Visitation will be from 2 pm till 8 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville and again on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 9 am until time of service at 11 am at Shepherdsville Gospel Chapel Church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
