Virginia "Ginny" Smith

   Virginia ”Ginny” Smith, age 84 of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born on Monday, February 19, 1940, to the late Lester Coy and Zella Dockery Coy in Grayson County, Kentucky.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 13 siblings.

   Ginny simply loved the lake life. She loved fishing and everything about being on the lake. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and friend that will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

   She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ray Smith, her children, Danny (Kari) Smith, Rhonda Williams, and Darrell Smith; grandchildren, Danny Jr. (Susan), Derek (Brenda), Daren (Traci), Devin ( Haylie), Paul, Jason, Karra (Brent), Crystal (Joe), Nikki (Mike), and Summer; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, WD Coy, and Mable; dear friend, Gyspy Britt, and a host of dear family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, December 2, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, from 3pm till 8pm and on Monday from 9 am until time of service.
