Avis Ray Mason

   Avis Ray Mason age 81, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 19, 2022.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville and attended Southeast Christian Church.  He also served in the United States Army and was a member of the North Bullitt Lions Club.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Harlan Mason and Thelma Koenig Mason and five brothers.

   He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Mary Lee Price Mason, having united in marriage on July 20, 1968. He is also survived by a son, Doug Mason (Billie); two daughters, Kara Meredith (Jason) and Kristen Axline (Rich); grandchildren, Justin, Alex, Austin, Hunter, Dakota, Katlyn, M.J., Lauren, Julia, Mason, Emmerson and Harrison; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

   Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 25, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)  Friends and Family may pay their respects on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 2pm until 8pm and Friday 9am until time of service at the funeral home.
