B. J. "Alabama" Collins

Mr. B.J. “Alabama” Collins, age 85, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 2, 2021. Mr. Collins was born in Attalla, Alabama on January 7, 1936 to the late Massey Collins and Odell Boyd Collins. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service where he was a union representative and vice president of UAW Local 862.

His beloved wife, Caroline Jean Collins preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Sharon Collins, Carol Brady (Mike) and Debbie Duvall; grandchildren, Michelle Brady Ahlers, Bradley Dickson, Michael Brady and Jeff Dickson; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Evan, Cortney, Austin, Erynn, Addison, and Ali; brother, Bobby Collins (Wanda); sister, Judy Partridge (Buddy) and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
