Bonnie Gayle Thompson

Mrs. Bonnie Gayle Thompson, age 74, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was born in Louisville, KY on August 24, 1949, to the late Robert Lewis and Edith (Miles) Lewis. Bonnie was a wife and homemaker for her husband and three sons. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and cooking. However, most of all she loved caring for and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bonnie will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, late husband George Thompson, and brother Robert (Bobby) Lewis, and sister-in-law Kathy Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Brian Thompson, Mark Thompson, Steven Thompson (Karen), grandchildren Zeke, Evan, Hunter, and Olivia Thompson, and Corey Cunningham, great-grandchildren Knox, Zhirelle, Zylynn Thompson, and her future grandson Wessin Colt Thompson, along with a host of other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 15, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks. Rd.) with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Central Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
