Brenda Lee Shope

Mrs. Brenda Lee Shope, age 82, of Louisville, Ky passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025, with her daughter and grandson by her side. Brenda was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 15, 1943, to the late Earl Wood and Pauline (McCarty) Wood. She retired after 40 years from PNC Plaza as a secretary and building management. Brenda she was smart, an avid reader, loved dancing, golfing, and tennis. Brenda equally loved spending time at her Lake House on Nolin Lake, or any beach. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and it was said she never met a stranger and always showed kindness and concern to those she would meet. “Her daughter said” my mother always had a twinkle in her eyes. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her late husband John E. Shope, Jr. 

She is survived by her daughter Teri Morris, 1 grandson Bryce K. Priddy, and a host of other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with Burial to follow at Dutch Tract Cemetery in Pleasureville, Kentucky.
