Carl Joseph Reed

Mr. Carl Joseph Reed, age 78, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 26, 2020.  Mr. Reed was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 20, 1941 to the late J. Byron and Gladys Irene (Lee) Reed. Mr. Reed retired from Colgate Palmolive after 35 years of service. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents; grandson, Jared Hammond; brothers, John Roger, James and Frank Reed; and the mother of his children, Phyllis Ann “Sandy” Reed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Cora (Hester) Reed; children, Vanessa (Stephen) Barron, Stacy Reed, Joseph Eric Reed, Darah (Colby) Hart, Jennifer Jones (Brandyn Morris) and Joy (Jose) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Derek (Stephanie) Hammond, Eddie (Vicki), Jordan (Normanda) and Michael (Samantha) Hart; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends

Funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 3 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
