Carolyn Hawkins, a proud mother, grandmother, and steadfast friend, passed away on March 17, 2026. Born on May 25, 1941, Carolyn lived a life defined by strong convictions, a sharp eye for detail, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Throughout her life, Carolyn took immense pride in her work across various industries. She found particular fulfillment as a cosmetic specialist with a local pharmacist, a role that perfectly complemented her lifelong passion for fashion and current trends.
Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as a feisty little woman with a "laser focus" on the things that mattered most: her faith, her politics, and her family. She was never one to shy away from a strong opinion, often jokingly claiming to be the "better" of the two twins when speaking of her siblings. She also possessed a rebellious streak, famously enjoying her sweet treats and occasionally choosing her own path over a doctor’s instructions.
Above all, Carolyn was a sanctuary for those she loved. She was a mother who boasted of her children at every opportunity and offered a listening ear without judgment. Her family will forever cherish the memory of a woman they could rely on to help them through life's most awkward or embarrassing moments with grace and understanding.
She is survived by her loving family and her faithful canine companion, Tee. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her caregiver, Michael Purcell, for his dedicated care. A special thank you is also shared with her wonderful neighbors, whose watchful eyes and kindness allowed her to maintain the independence she so greatly valued.
She was preceded by her father Carl Allgood, mother Minnie Allgood, widowed to Jimmie Smith and Larry Hawkins, twin sister Marilyn Leavell, sister Alma Rae Orrender and daughter Sonya Kay Hall.
Survived by Brother Carl Norman Allgood (Joy), daughter Karen Tasman (Gary), sons Terry Roth (Patti) and Jimmie Smith II (Barbara), and grandson Kenny Worley.
