Charles and Verna Montgomery

Mr. Charles O. Montgomery, 84 and Mrs. Verna L. Montgomery, 81 who were husband and wife of 62 years returned to their Heavenly Father on May 3, 2022. Charles was born in Bullitt County, Ky on February 15, 1938, to the late Loyd and Lillian Montgomery. Verna was born in Bullitt County, Ky on June 8, 1940, to the late William and Ada Lee Patterson. Charles retired from Ford after 33 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling with his wife to Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland. He was a Shriner, and a Mason at Lodge #155 F&AM Bullitt County. Verna retired from Bullitt County Circuit Clerks Office, she enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, and traveling with her husband. Verna was a member of the OES Star of Hope lodge #183.

Preceded in death by their parents, and one son, Gregory Montgomery.

They are survived by, one son, Duane Montgomery (Beth), two grandchildren, Dakota Montgomery (Whitney), Katie Montgomery. Along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday May 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. till time of service. With burial at Hebron Cemetery to follow.
