Charles "Chuck" Check

Charles E. “Chuck” Check, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky age 76 returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 23, 2024.  Chuck was born in Louisville, KY on September 22, 1947, to the late Edward Check and Evelyn (Striet) Check.  Mr. Check was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Washington, where he was an usher and volunteer, and a member of VFW Post #10281 in Vine Grove. He was a KY Colonel and U.S Marine veteran, that served two tours in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life he enjoyed many things. He was an avid runner. He loved spending time camping, fishing, dancing and riding motorcycles. He loved watching Green Bay Packers football and UK basketball. He loved spending time with his family. 

Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, Edward and Evelyn, and brother, Kevin Check. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Christina Beckum (Jerry) and Chaney Check (Lisa); grandchildren, D.J. (Cortnie), Ameila (Aaron), Abbie, Kelsey (Neil), Paige, and Logan (Lilly); many great-grandchildren; brother, Randy Check (Donna) and a host of extended family and friends that loved him very much. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with a private interment in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. www.subfuneralhome.com
