Charles Norman Markert

Mr. Charles Norman Markert, age 78, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Mr. Markert was born in Louisville, KY on May 3, 1944 to the late John Robert Markert and Lillian Rose Markert. He was a member of St. Athanasius Church and a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He retired from the Kroger Company Data Processing after 40 years of service and he was a member of Kemba Louisville Credit Union where he served on the board for 34 years, part of that time as chairman.

In addition to his parents, his siblings, Kenneth Markert, Madonna Markert, Gary Markert and Virginia Kremer preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 49 years, Ruby Sneed Markert; children, John Markert (D’Ann), Christopher Markert and Diana Grosshans (Michael); grandchildren, Emma, Alex, Mia, Hannah, Ella, Jaina, Brayden and Aria; brother, Robert Markert (Patsy); sister, Marcia Vause (Charlie) and a host of other dear family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. Athanasius Church (5915 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)
