Christopher Allen Florence

Mr. Christopher Florence, age 58 of Fern Creek, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Mr. Florence was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 19, 1959 to James and Wilma Florence. He was a retired Sears store manager, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Highview Baptist Church. He graduated from University of Louisville where he earned his degree in Chemistry. Not only was Mr. Florence a very smart man, he was a great leader and mentor to many. Mr. Florence loved people, he was very kind, loving and compassionate, and was always there when someone was in need. He loved his dog Daisy and had a great sense of humor and loved to torment (lovingly) and tease those close to him.  Of all the things he loved; he loved his family the most. He married the love of his life Colleen. They had a marriage made in heaven. In 2005 he and Colleen completed their family and he became a dad to precious Christeen.  Mr. Florence was well loved by all who had the privilege to get to know him and he will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 26 years, Colleen Florence; his daughter who he cherished, Christeen; his parents, James and Wilma Florence; 1 sister, Johnna Newton; 1 brother, Joseph Florence (Sandra); numerous aunts and uncles; 12 nieces and nephews; Michael, Daniel, Jacob, Sarah, Connor, Katye, Rebecca, Riley, Erin, John, Ryan, and Julia; 1 great nephew, Ethan; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4894 N. Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd., Shepherdsville, Ky. 40165) with Cremation to follow.  Friends may pay their respects from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Saturday.
