Clyde David Edwards

Mr. Clyde David Edwards, age 82, of Mt. Washington, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Mr. Edwards was born in Louisville, KY on December 18, 1939 to the late James David Edwards and Elizabeth Rhea Edwards. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church and a skilled building contractor. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  

In addition to his parents, his brother, Paul Ray Edwards and his brother-in-law, Lee Burgess preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane (Chilton) Edwards; children, Brenda S. Phelps (Steve), Sandra J. Burns, and Bonita K. Harris (Louis); grandchildren, Melina Burns (James Creso), Adam Harris (Courtney), Nathan Burns, Eric Burns, Brooke Phelps (Kyle) and Mark Harris (Janette); 10 great-grandchildren, Jude, Isaac, Shiloh, Kate, Caleb, Zane, Lauren, Isabella, Autumn and Anna; sister, Louise Burgess; brothers-in-law, Paul Chilton (Ann) and David Chilton (Juanita); sister-in-law, Charlotte Edwards and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends and family may pay their respects from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home at 4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am EST (10:00 am CST) on Monday, September 26, 2022 Christian Assembly Church (9020 Stonestreet Rd., Louisville, KY) with his burial to follow. Please meet at McGrew Cemetery at 2:00 pm EST (1:00 pm CST) The cemetery address is 775 McGrew Church Rd., Annetta (Leitchfield), KY.
