David Raymond Blackburn

Mr. David Raymond Blackburn, age 78, of Shepherdsville, Ky passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. David was born in Pisa, Italy on October 5, 1946, to the late James Howard Blackburn and Yolanda (Cinque) Blackburn. David graduated from Norwood High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and went on to college where he received his master’s degree in education. He retired after 30 years of service with Bullitt County Public Schools as a Physical Education teacher and a football coach at Bullitt East. He loved fishing, golfing, exercising and working out. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his two brothers James A. Blackburn, Victor Blackburn, and his half-sister Daniella Cinque. Along with a host of other dear family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens (279 Landis Lane, Mount Washington, Ky 40047). The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Drive, Mt. Washington, Kentucky).
