Deborah "Debbie" Vaughn Bates

Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Bates, 58 of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 3, 2021. She was born in Louisville, KY on March 29, 1963, to Charles Thomas Vaughn and Shirley Mae “Logsdon” Vaughn. Debbie was a salesclerk for Cox’s Smoke Shop for many years, she liked the ocean and lighthouses, she enjoyed camping and being outdoors, Christmas and Gatlinburg, and she enjoyed being at church, but most of all she loved her family and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband John Allen Bates; her parents, Charles, and Shirley Vaughn; her son David Vaughn (Penny), 2 daughters Christina Goodin (Bear), and Brittany French; brothers, Chuck Vaughn (Sandy), Ervin Vaughn (Blossom), Billy Joe Vaughn (Pam), Mark Nellum (Mia), and sister Shannon Brennan (Bill); 15 grandchildren, and 8 great- grandchildren

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 1pm until 8:00pm. Again, on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service.
