Dorothy Ann Downs

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Downs, age 76, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  Mrs. Downs was born on March 15, 1943 in Louisville to the late Herdmon and Alma (Gilliam) Tarrance. Mrs. Downs was a homemaker.

Among those that preceded her in death are her parents; her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph Leon Downs; son, Gerald Ray Downs; daughters, Angela Lynn Downs and Barbara Garrison; brothers, Edward and Herbie Tarrance; and sisters, Loetta Higdon and Carol Burkhead.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Joseph Downs, Jr., Jeanica Reed (Richard), Regina Troutman and Nicholas Troutman; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Browning (James) and Shirley Winser (John).

Memorial service will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, May 10, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Friends may pay their respects on Friday at 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
