

Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Kerr 82, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed from this earth on October 14, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born on June 29, 1939, she was a native of Leitchfield, Kentucky. Libby was a devoted wife, caring mother, supportive sister, and a proud grandmother. Libby lauded the accomplishments of her family, whom she harbored immense pride for. A working wife and mother, she operated the Ann Herbert dress shop in the early 1970’s, where she worked for 6 years. She was a real estate Broker in the Louisville area for 25 years, after which, she spent her life bestowing love, care, and inspiration to all in her family. Music always had a prominent role in her life, prompting her to join the Derby City chapter of Sweet Adelines. Her love of singing, especially with her family, helped to define her life. One of her proudest personal achievements was establishing the band Denim and Lace in 1988, performing for 8 years alongside her daughter Terri and youngest son Eric, where countless stories were born about her life on the road, which once again centered around her family. Her unwavering faith in God, and his promise of everlasting life informed her on her outlook in life.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents Clara and Earl W. Kelly, sisters Norma “Suzie” Beville, Diane Unthank, Peggy Mitchell (Dan), Patsy Lindsey (Jimmy), and brother Earl C. Kelley.
She is survived by Sam, her beloved husband of 65 years, children Robert Kerr, Terri Peters (Jerry), Bryan Kerr (Lori), Eric Kerr (Sherri), siblings Billy Kelley, Donna Hendrick, and Polly Frazier, grandchildren Philisia “Lisa” Flint (Jerry), Heather Kerr (Brandon), TJ Peters, Matthew Kerr, Evan Kerr (KJ), Ian Kerr, and Amanda Kerr, great grandchildren Sabrina Walls, Nalley Kilgore, and Story Casebolt.
Services to celebrate her life and memory will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 North Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. Burial will follow at Lile Cemetery in Leitchfield, KY.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
