Gary Marshall Wathen

Mr. Gary Marshall Wathen, age 67 of Mt. Washington Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 15, 2018. Mr. Wathen was born January 30, 1950. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a loving man to his family who used his favorite phrase “ Hubba Hubba “ to get his family motivated. He will be missed by his faithful companion, Levi (a Sheltie) of 4 years.

Mr. Wathen was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary (Thompson) Wathen and his brother, Phillip Wathen.

Mr. Wathen leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sherry Jo (Sheetz) Wathen; children, Chris Wathen (Blair), Alyson Simpson (Josh); grandchildren, Elle and Layla Wathen and Matthew Simpson; brothers, Dwight Wathen (Mary Jo), Robert Wathen (Evelyn), David Wathen (Penny); and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2017 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
