Mr. James Kurt Backer, age 84, of Shepherdsville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Mr. Backer was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 17, 1933 to the late Kurt and Erna Backer.
Among those who preceded him in death include, his dear wife of 57 years, Eleanor Jane Backer.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kimberly J. Greshel (Scott), Karen Backer (Patricia Wilcox) and James K. Backer (Georgeann); grandchildren, Scott Phillip (Cindy), Heather, Kelsi, Kayci and Kurt; brother, Jack Backer (Betty); sister, Erna Karla and a host of other family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus.
