James Rountree

James Evert Rountree, 87 of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 31, 2015 with loving family by his side. He was a retired woodworker and a faithful member of Gods Holiness Church.

Among those who preceded him in death are his wife, Loretta Rountree parents, William Bradley and Iva Mamie House Rountree; step mother, Daisey Ragland Rountree; a great-great granddaughter, Haivyan Anna Booth; sister, Antha Ellen Rountree and Aline Kirk; brothers, Ervin, Jesse and William Rountree; three step sisters and one step brother.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Paulette Smith, Helen Webb and Theresa Lay; sons, Paul Rountree (Peggy), Earnest Rountree (Barbara); 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren; sister, Irene Thompson; step brothers, J.C. Ragland (Naomi) and Harold Ragland (Mary) and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted noon on Tuesday in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Preston Highway with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at Schoppenhorst.
