Lola Ann Cardwell

Lola Ann (Darnell) Cardwell, age 75, of Southend, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 19, 2019.  Mrs. Cardwell was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 2, 1944 to the late Louie and Lola Wise. She was a retired housekeeping supervisor for Comfort Inn. Mrs. Cardwell is remembered by her family as being a “firecracker” with the most beautiful blue eyes ever and a heart of gold.  She loved feeding people, and her fur babies, Maylee, Buddy, and Hotrod.  Of all the things Mrs. Cardwell loved, she loved her family the most, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Cardwell and 4 stepchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Cynthia Christman, Laurie Skelton (Alan), Angela Cardwell (Reginal Edmonds), James E. Cardwell, James A. Cardwell, Clara Cardwell, Burley Cardwell, Delores Lind and Linda Eads; grandchildren, Anthony Hunter, Jerimiah Cardwell, Lola Hunter, Jeremy Lind, Christopher Lind, Ashley Redfern, Candise Jobe, Montobi Mapp, Jr., Jacqueline Cardwell, Seann Conley, Jr. and Justin Gendron; 28 great grandchildren; and 5 stepchildren; siblings, William Wise, Shirley Garcia, Mark Wise, Marsha French, Barbara Carlton, Mary “Susie” Neuman, Mona LaPearl and Joe Wise; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, August 26, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Rd.)  with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery to follow.  Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home
