Margaret Laverne (Sweat) Dawson

Mrs. Margaret Laverne (Sweat) Dawson, age 87, of Okolona returned to her Heavenly Father on February 22, 2018. Mrs. Dawson worked in the cafeteria at St. Rita Catholic Church where she was a member. Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Louise (Boone) Sweat, Sr.; husband, Bobby Lee Dawson; grandson, Ricky Stivers, Jr.; and siblings, Myrtle Baker, Esther Parker and T.J. Sweat, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Garrie Dawson, Thomas Dawson (Beverly) and Therese Stivers (Tony); grandchildren, Ashley (Josh), April (Louis) and Justin; great-grandchildren, Alexus, Summer and Addison; and siblings, Buster, Joe and Rudolph Sweat, Fronie Huffman and Frances Pachini. The family would like to express their thanks to Karen, Kirstie and Jerri for their generous care.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, February 26, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery.
