Melina Johana Brown

Melina Johana Brown, age 16, of Mt. Washington, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Melina was born in Guatemala on August 14, 2007. She completed her sophomore year at Bullitt East High School, was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, a member of Southeast Christian Church in Mt. Washington and worked for Tropical Smoothie in Fern Creek. Melina loved photography and riding ATVs with her family. She was a funny, precious and treasured daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Kimberly Brown; father, Doyle W. Brown Jr.; brother, Clayton Brown; maternal grandparents, James and Wanda Dowell; paternal grandparents, Doyle Brown Sr. and Bonnie Brown; uncle, Kelvin Dowell (Cheryl); aunt, Brenda Wulf (Matt); cousins, Casey Dowell (Sara) and Jesse Dowell of Tempe, AZ; a host of many other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 12:00 pm until the time of her service at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
