Melvin "Junior" Bailey

Melvin Lewis “Junior” Bailey, age 77, of Hillview, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 17, 2024 with loving family by his side. He was born on March 6, 1947 in Victoria, Texas to the late Irene Brown and Melvin Bailey, Sr. Mr. Bailey was a proud veteran of the United States Army and devoted much of his career to law enforcement.  He was a member and head usher at Wellman Wesleyan Church and was co-owner of Don’t Forget Me. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Destinee Barr and his brother, James Bailey.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 32 years, Linda Coomer Bailey; sons, Michael Ray Bailey, Douglas Barr and Marshall Barr (Jaime); daughter, Tracye Estes; brother, Cecil Bailey (Darlene); numerous grand children and great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial visitation and service will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11 am until 5 pm at Wellman Wesleyan Church (3220 Bohannon Avenue in Louisville).
