Nancy L. Simmons Fitzwater

Mrs. Nancy L. Simmons Fitzwater, age 66, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on July 4, 2016. Mrs. Fitzwater retired from Bullitt County Public Schools as a teacher for special needs children and was a member of Vine Hill Baptist Church. Among those that preceded her in death include her mother, Marsetta Davis Simmons. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 44 years, Lonzo Fitzwater; daughter, Jennifer Aoun; father and stepmother, James Simmons (Jean); siblings, Gina Miller (Paul), Gary Simmons (Melissa), Rick Simmons (Della), Tony Simmons and David Bancroft (Catie); and special friend, Zachary Price.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 2-8 pm and Thursday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Children's Tumor Foundation.
