Rebecca Jean Burks

Ms. Rebecca Jean Burks, age 58, of Leitchfield, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Rebecca was born in Louisville, KY on November 14, 1964, she was Christian by faith and she was a precious mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. 

Among those who preceded her in death are, her father, Benny Burks; brother, Larry Brewer Jr. and her half- brother, Billy Joe Morgan.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Ashley Gillenwater (Eric); grandson, Luke Gillenwater; mother, Dorothy Brewer (Larry); siblings, Roger Burks, Edward Burks (Linda) and Michelle Brewer-Carter; half-sisters, Rhonda Pound, Jeri Lynn Maas and Lisa Kennedy; aunt, Gladys Laughlin and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of her service at noon at the funeral home.
