Hey you, it’s been six years the hurt feels like yesterday but I know it always will, but that’s okay. If I hurt everyday you’ll know how much I really loved you. I talked with Sally briefly yesterday. She’s really a special person I’ve come to love her too. I know about Sunday I just wish I knew what it was all about. You went to Erin’s Halloween wedding yep she’s just like us! Buck is trying to get his business off the ground. He’s so talented you’d love his work. It’s amazing that he makes it so great considering he’s color blind. He has got his life healthy no more alcohol or cigarettes I’m really proud of them both I know you would be too. The grandbabies aren’t babies anymore. Tater just turned 7 and bubby will one step away from being a teenager. They’re great kids. I miss our phone calls that would last for hours can’t you tell. If anyone reads this they’re gonna think I’m crazy. If they know me, they’ll know I am. I miss your voice, even when you were trying to hide what you sounded like. I never cared about things like that. You knew you never had to be anyone other than Rod with me. I’ve got to stop this now or I’ll just go on and on and on. ILY

Okay here it is so many more days than I can count. The tears still haven’t stopped. I have 2 beautiful reminders of you, they are my heart but sometimes it makes me so sad that I can’t share their lives with you. You’d be so proud.  They both look just like you. “The boy” as your daddy always called him has your gorgeous champagne blonde hair we women would kill for but you can’t buy. ErinRae has it too when she leaves it alone but she gets bored like her momma. They both have your blue blue eyes. God I need to hear your voice say “Hey Baby” like you always did. It didn’t matter if it was 1984 or up until the time you left. Part of me died when Sally called me and told me you were gone. Thank god for her. She tried to help me through it even though her heart was broken too. She showed grace, class and more kindness than anyone else would have shown. I’m very thankful for that. Now comes the rest of my mortal life. I have a husband who loves me but understands my love for you he’s a saint and most days I doubt that I deserve him. I wish there was a way I could know you were around if you are. Sally has her signs but I need my own.  I was so stupid for not telling you how I felt while you were still with us. I just always thought my feelings would get in the way of your life. I was so wrong. I know now you should never hide your feelings because tomorrow is too late. I know that sound cliche but it’s the truth. Ilyf 

I’ve tried to hold it together but lately everything reminds me of you and the tears come. I’m not talking a drizzle but as hard and fast. There’s no stopping them. I don’t know if you ever had any idea how much I loved you, hell I didn’t want to admit it to myself. I knew we’d always have each other. That’s why I backed away, to avoid being in the way of your life. You weren’t supposed to go so far away that I couldn’t get to you if I needed I guess you were my security blanket (my  woocby) 
We’d always make stupid plans like when we were kids I miss those calls. Your birthday is coming soon and I may lose my mind because every year that I’ve known you, I’ve wished you happy birthday and took comfort in the fact that I still remembered.

Rodney - I have so many words...never enough words...you meant so much to me since the day I met you wayyyyyy back when (1987 in case you thought I forgot lol). We all used to have so much fun. Laughed until our sides hurt. Sang until the rest of the neighbors complained! Knocked on the pipe 3 times until you finally came down the steps. All the favorite Meatloaf songs will all be played for you from now on. We were all so close it's hard and sad that we didn't keep it going longer than we did. I love ya Rerod and I know you love me too. I'll miss you forever and a day until we can meet again. Behave in the meantime!  X's n O's always my dear sweet friend
