

Mrs. Thelma Jean Pearson, age 84, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Mrs. Pearson was born in Bakersfield, CA on March 13, 1934 to the late Oland Lee Crowley and Grace Evelyn Nixon Steele. For two years, she was a radio operator in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict where she met her husband. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions of responsibility including, Relief Society President, Primary President, choir director, organist, temple volunteer and she and her husband served a mission at the St. Louis Temple. She is remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother, for her “big heart”, making family and God her life, and forever being an inspiration to her children for her forgiveness and loving heart. Thelma was an avid lover of her rose bushes, and accomplished seamstress, painter and gardener.
Among those who preceded her in death are, her beloved husband of 57 years, Roy Pearson, Sr.; her great- grandson, Andrew Jewell; her grandson, Cameron Steele Pearson; and her brother, James Nixon.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Brenda Sissel (Greg), Roy M. Pearson, Jr. (Ruth), Stephanie Pearson, Paul Pearson (Diane) and Cassie Pearson; grandchildren, Renae Ledger (Charlie), Jackie Monnin (Tim), Roger Dunaway (Leslie), Debbie Jewell, Kyle Pearson, Allison Looney, Madison Looney, Katie O’ Brien, Chris Pearson, Mitchell Pearson, Annette Pearson, Tonya Mattingly, Nathan Mattingly, Cassidy O’ Brien, Billy Wooldridge, Shelby Wooldridge and Collin Pearson; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
