Sister Dorothy Ray Bingley – Williams Foley was born on November 19, 1945 in Flatonia, Texas. She was the daughter of Raymond Williams and Ollie Mae Bingley. She attended the public school in Flatonia, Texas. Dorothy was a fast learner. She gained knowledge and shared life experiences to help others. Her favorite activities included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She was also a top – notched cook in the kitchen. She served as a community organizer in the ‘80’s bringing commodity assistance to the community of Shiner, Texas.
In her early years she professed her faith in Christ and joined New Union Methodist Church in Flatonia, Texas. Later, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Reverend James R. Foley and to this union became the mother of three children and a devoted member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Not that long after she was the First Lady. She was an active member of the Usher Board and the Mission Society. She served faithfully. Unfortunately, her health began to fail but, she continued to give her dues and offerings to support the Church.
