Albert L. Lester, age 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022. Albert was born October 31, 1942 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Violet D. Lester Wyatt and Robert James Lester.
Albert was the owner and operator of Lester's Tractor and Equipment from 1988 until 2018. He started this business with his wife Lou under a shade tree at their house. He enjoyed going to Brinkley Auctions in Idabel, Oklahoma. Over the years he met a lot of people in the tractor business and made a lot of friends. He enjoyed travelling, especially through the mountains and spending time with his grandchildren.
Albert was a longtime member and Past Master of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #409 and Greenwood Eastern Star #202. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a past Worthy Patron, past Worshipful Master, and past Master for District Lodge #1. He was also a past Demolay Chapter Dad and a member of Stonewall Apostolic Church.
Albert is survived by his wife, Teresa Lester; his daughter Cynthia Ferguson (Michael), Steven Lester (Patti), Teresa Barber (Johnny), Jennifer Evans (James), Vera Carter, Diawana Wyatt (Charles); brothers Marvin Lester (Beverly) and David Lester (Patsy); sisters Debbie Bingham (Barry), and Nelda Doolittle (Wayne), his great aunt, Rudelle Rockford. Mr. Lester also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memory.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 56 years, Louvina Sims Lester, sister, Emily Stephens and great granddaughter, Serenity Starr Childress.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with Brother Franklin Walker officiating.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Albert's nurse Marquita Hall of SouthernCare Hospice.
